The Delta Nationals’ “All Over the Map,” released in Feb. 2008, is an 11-song effort comprised of all original songs written by the band. As the title implies, the musical styles range widely from jump swing and classic country, to Memphis soul, bossa nova, reggae, New Orleans R&B and surf music.
The members of the band are, L to R, Steve Irwin, guitar and vocals; Dave Ryan, keyboards and vocals; Ross Rowley, bass and vocals; and Paul DeMark, drums and vocals.
“All Over the Map” was recorded at Myrtletown Records in Eureka by engineer Tim Gray, who also co-produced the CD with The Delta Nationals. Guest artists joining the Delta Nationals on the CD included: renowned Arcata singer Joyce Hough; the Roadmasters singer/guitarist Doug Eastteam; and dobro and pedal steel player Michael Proctor, formerly of the Eileen Hemphill-Haley Band and Buckshot.
These CDs are both available locally at The Metro, The Works, People’s Records and at Bruce & Carrie Hart’s dance classes.
